Young Masters

PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: March 2026
TERAVARNA Young Masters is committed to delivering a safe, inspiring, and an environment where there is respect for privacy among young artists, aged 6-15. Since we are working with children, we adhere to elevated privacy standards, and we fully comply with every applicable law in the U.S., including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) as well as relevant federal and state privacy laws in the United States. This includes state privacy protections such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and related California minors’ privacy provisions, which provide additional safeguards for the personal information of children and teens, and evolving California online safety laws designed to protect children’s data and online experiences. COPPA explains how we collect, use, and protect information provided by children and their parents or legal guardians.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT & HOW WE USE IT

Registration and all communications related to the TERAVARNA Young Masters competitions must be done or reviewed by a parent or a legal guardian. All the information that we gather is relevant to running the competition. This typically consists of the name and age of the child, email address, and name of the parent or guardian, and the artwork provided.

We use this information to process the entry, verify that the entry is legitimate, communicate results, issue certificates or awards, and to provide key updates about the competition. We do not solicit or take any unnecessary personal details about children, i.e., home addresses, phone numbers, social media accounts, or any other sensitive personal information.

We do not transfer or promote personal information to third parties in any way and do not sell, rent, or trade it. Any information posted externally (such as artwork featured online) is shown with the knowledge and consent of parents.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY & COPPA COMPLIANCE (U.S. LAW)

Because U.S. federal law requires special protections for children under age 13, TERAVARNA Young Masters complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

As the competitions involve children who are below the age of 13, we provide clear notice to their parents, and we seek verifiable parental consent before obtaining any personal information from their child.

We gather only the necessary information that is needed to enable the child to participate. All communication occurs through the parent or guardian, or in their complete presence. Under no circumstances are children approached individually.

Parents have full control over their child’s information and may request review, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent at any time by contacting us at the email provided below.

PAYMENT & SENSITIVE INFORMATION

All payments are safely made through PayPal or Stripe. TERAVARNA Young Masters keeps no record of any payment cards or billing details. Any changes to payment methods must be handled directly with the payment provider.

PUBLICATION OF ARTWORK

Selected artworks can be presented on our website or utilised in promotional materials in order to showcase young talents. To ensure safety, we limit information that is publicly visible. Only the first name of the child and last initial, age group, and country or city are presented in addition to their artwork. Full names will be applied with clear permission of a parent or guardian.

We never display a child’s private contact information.

SMS & MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

SMS communication, when offered, is allowed only to the parents and guardians. In case a parent chooses to communicate via SMS, only their name and mobile number are utilized for providing updates on TERAVARNA, and the information will never be shared or sold. Parents can opt out at any point by replying “STOP.” We will never send out SMS messages directly to children.

PARENTAL RIGHTS

Parents and guardians have the right to:

  • Review the information we have collected about their child
  • Request that we update or correct this information
  • Withdraw consent for continued useRequest the deletion of their child’s information from our records

We respond effectively to all such requests. Consent withdrawal can influence the child to further participate, but their privacy and safety remain our top priority.

Since participants are all underage, a parental or a legal guardian certified No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory. Any unacceptable NOC might result in disqualification and no refund. TERAVARNA is entitled to verify the identity of parents and request supporting documents to the same effect.

DATA SECURITY & RETENTION

To secure all information collected through our website, we use proper administrative and technical safeguards. Only information deemed necessary to administer the competition, comply with legal or audit requirements, or maintain historical data of awards is retained. At any time, parents may request the deletion of data.

EMAIL OPT-OUT
